Our trainer attended a couple of meetings recently and as is common with business meetings, the presenters had PowerPoint presentations. In both cases the presenters opened the PowerPoint file and then struggled to launch the presentation in Slide Show view. In his experience, this is something presenters often struggle with.
You can use the Slide Show button on the status bar to switch into Slide Show view but the button can be small and not that easy to click on if your PC is on a podium at an awkward angle.
The quickest way to start a Slide Show is to press F5. No mouse, no searching for buttons or commands, and it works in all versions of PowerPoint.
So if you are in the audience and a presenter is struggling to launch the presentation, feel free to share this shortcut with them afterwards. And maybe pass on John's contact info as there is likely much more in PowerPoint that they would benefit from knowing.
